TCL TV codes will not work with Xfinity Remote - Cable Box XG2v2-P
New TCL TV - Model 50S525. The Xfinity Cable box XG2v2-P shows only three codes for TCL to pair the Xfinity XR15-UQ to control the volume and power. Those codes are 12434, 11447, and 11454. Using these codes I receive the following onscreen information "Unfortunately, your TV couldn't be paired with your remote. You won't be able to use your remote to control your TV power or volume for now. Please try again later."
TCL has provided me with additional codes that may work and suggest I contact you to see if these codes can be added to the available TCL codes of the Xfinity Cable Box.
These codes are 11756 , 12019, 12290, and 12292.
Mike.

Hmmmm. . . I think I understand what you mean, that I should go through the steps, manually entering the Codes given to me by TCL , not selecting the Codes on screen. I'll try that and see what happens.
Thanks for your time. 😃

Hello . . . if you will reread the first line, I am using a Xfinity XR15-UQ . Also, the codes will have to be available through the Cable Box for the Remote to ''accept''' them.
Thanks , though.
Mike.

the codes teach the remote the power/volume controls and possibly the 'input-HDMI' control. the set top box does not use those codes at all.

I have a TCL TV I just bought and was going to get X1 but was wondering how the remote would work with a Roku TV - have you had any luck?

"slyway" . . . . . .the codes given in the Xfinity box would not work with my TCL -ROKU TV. I contacted TCL Support and was given additional Codes, of which one was the right one. My Xfinity Remote now controls the volume , power and TV Inputs.

This answer saved our TCL TV (it was about to get tossed through the window!) and our sanity (not easy, after a big move)... Thanks, Mike! This was EXACTLY what we needed and worked wonders! (And definitely beat a 2 hour hold time on the phone with Comcast/Xfinity)

Thanks for the compliment and your success story.....I'm glad everything worked out for you....I bought my TCL for my 78 year old sister in law and wanted to have as few remote controls as possible on her table. She has barely figured out the Xfinity Remote features....I'm going to wait a while before pushing her into the ROKU features.
