Synching X1 boxes

I have two X1 boxes, one in the kitchen and one around the corner in the living room. I watch the same channel on both but the sound/signal is a fraction of a second delayed on one or the other, causing an echo. I've tried resetting each, or both, or running diagnostics, with no luck. They are fed by separate cables coming off a splitter where it enters the house.

Is there a way to synch these boxes so I don't have to mute the sound on one in order to not be driven insane by the echo?

Are they the same model? If not, then there is probably nothing you can do. Each model has slightly different hardware and processing delays.

No they are not. Support has been working on it but with no solution.

There is nothing they can do. The only fix would be to use the exact same model cable boxes, and even then, you may also need identical TV's as TV's also introduce their own processing delays.

Hi, @user_fde338. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing an echo while attempting to watch the same program on two separate TV's. I appreciate you confirming these cable boxes are being fed by different wires from the same splitter.

Do you by any chance have a sound system connected to the TV in the living room? If so, is the audio on the TV located in the living room On? Have you tried muting your TV and leaving the sound system audio On? How about the cables connected to the TV's? Are you using an HDMI on both cable boxes?

Hi Raul,

Yes the living room tv sound is through a sonos sound bar and the tv audio is off, and HDMI for both cable boxes.

I'm guessing my only recourse is using only one cable box and splitting it after to each tv. The downside is losing the ability to control one of the tv's.

Thank you for confirming. I understand the ability to control one of the tv's would be discouraging to go through with the changes. It's a great idea but even then, I wouldn't be able to guarantee it'll work.

In fact, the audio will create an echo effect due to the tv's being so close together. Perhaps you can connect a second speaker into the sound bar or directly to the tv in the living room so your audio is coming from the main tv?
