Switching from Directv to xfinity TV

I know this may be an odd question. I have xfinity internet and xfinity Mobil, but I have Directv (long story). I want to change to xfinity TV, but am not sure of the steps. Do I have Directv disconnected first then order the self install kit for xfinity? If anyone has gone through this process, any advice would be helpful.
