Sound issues.

The sound intermittently misses and then after about 10 minutes of this, the sound becomes garbled, like you are talking into a fan. This goes on for 5-10 minutes and then sometimes stops. Only way to fix is to reboot the unit. This only happens on the main DVR unit, not on any other TV's. Extremely frustrating.

the audio stream is delivered digitally to your TV or device you connected the HDMI cable. audio issues would probably be in that device (TV or receiver/sound bar).

Although that was my first thought, if I switch over to my Roku device, the sound issue goes away but immediately returns when I return to the DVR. It also clears up, albeit for an unknown while, if I reboot the DVR. It urged was an issue with the sound bar &/or the TV, I would expect the issue to be more consistent and predictable.
I have seen some internet posts suggesting that there is a known issue with this particular Xfinity unit, I just hesitate to replace it and lose some recorded videos that I have. I was hoping that there was a simple fix.

Hi @JimC137! We appreciate you for using the Xfinity Forum to report the audio issues you're having. I've had this happen before, and I know how frustrating it can be. I wanted to check in with you to see if you're still noticing the audio issues? Based on what you've described with the DVR, I wanted to see if there are any signal issues, noise on the line, or issues at the node that would be causing this. How long have you had your DVR? What model are you using? Can you verify your first and last name and service address in a private message so I can check your levels and node? To send a message, click on my name, "ComcastChe," then click send a message.

please fix the dependability of sound on the computer or else the program becomes unwatchable; why can't this be stopped?
