Sound cutting out

My sound has been cutting out for a few weeks. Just spent over $900 on a new sound bar thing that was the problem! It definitely is not, still happening.  How can we fix this issue? Looks like I'm not the only one.

Hello @user_140bf1, and thank you for reaching out with your audio issue you are having. Since it started, have you tried to replace the connection cable from the box to the device you use for audio, and tried a different input on the TV?

Oh, no! Let's get to the bottom of this, asap! Our Digital Care Team is here for you. Can you please send us a private message, including your full name, and your full address? You can do so, by clicking on the chat icon, in the top right hand corner of your screen, and once you click on that icon, you should be able to search "Xfinity Support", which should then give you the ability to send us a message. Thank you in advance, and I look forward to speaking with you!

I no longer work for Comcast.

We’re having the same problem with the sound cutting out constantly on all channels. I called and first said they’d never heard of this. I hate it when they say that because it’s not true. Then they said they would have to send a tech to check our cables. I said I know that’s not the problem because it does the same thing on the app when I’m watching on my iPad. After seeing so many comments about this problem, it’s obviously an Xfinity problem, but they just don’t want to deal with it, other than resending the signal, which did not fix the problem.  So looking forward to the day when we unplug from Xfinity.

I am having the same issue.  It’s so frustrating because I miss important dialogue.  It is happening no matter what channel I am watching, live or recorded, and on both TV’s. All the money it cost for service with infinity, this should be the least of my worries.

Hello, @user_8fad49 and thread. I am sorry that the audio has been cutting out and understand that is extremely frustrating to have happen. I agree that it would cause you to miss important dialogue and make the show difficult to keep up with or even want to watch. We want to get to the bottom of this issue and appreciate the help so we can. I just checked again and do not see this listed as a known issue so we need to continue to troubleshoot and most likely open tickets for this problem. These are the troubleshooting steps for Xfinity TV Audio Issues. If you have gone through these steps and the issue is still occurring please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send your message
