Smart resume

Smart resume seems to disappear on shows that had it. I watched one I had recorded and it was fine. I then watched the next recorded episode and there was no smart resume at all.

@rysue Thank you so much for your post for help with the Smart Resume feature. The smart resume is great when available to help get past those commercials. Smart Resume isn't available for all programs and networks. Right now, Smart Resume is only available for top shows on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, CW, Bravo, HGTV, Discovery, MTV and TLC. It can only be used on eligible HD programs smart Resume isn't available on SD recordings. We recommend starting by making sure the show in question is on one of the networks mentioned. Then make sure you have selected the HD option of the show. If not available in HD the Smart resume feature will not be available.  You can check out how to make sure the feature is still turned on or disable it here.

it is an ABC show, 9-1-1. Smart Resume worked on the recording of the Nov. 7 show  I finished that and then continued watching the next recorded episode, Nov. 14 and Smart Resume was missing. It was on HD. In fact the DVR is set to record all new episodes in HD.

@rysue Thank you for clarifying that. Have you checked any other shows that you were able to enjoy smart resume on to see if is missing from those as well?

My Smart Resume disappeared on Nov 13. Works on all shows recorded prior to this date. Tried doing a system refresh and received message "there is a video outage in your area. Unfortunately a system refresh won't work." Also spent an hour on phone with Comcast and all I got was a ticket #. Not sure what to do with it since it's almost impossible to get a human.  A friend who lives 20 miles away is experiencing the Smart Resume issue also.

I'm having the same problem! Smart resume seems to have disappeared since the week of 11-14-24 or so.

We are also experiencing smart resume not working on  our TV shows. It started after  Nov 12th 

This is frustrating.  Especially since we now pay for all our boxes.

Spend big bucks every month.

We have been thinking about changing providers.  I hope Xfinity gets this fixed.

And do it soon

I agree. I’ve been thinking about cutting the cord. I just got a another increase paired with fewer stations and spotty service.

I have had technician twice this week, along with several hours on the phone, after I finally get a human, and have been told not all broadcasting stations have this feature. I am not stupid, I have been watching these stations and shows for years and never had this problem until a week ago.  Obviously there is a big problem within xfinity and should own up to it so people don't waste their time trying to talk to a human or waiting for technician to show up. Very unsatisfied and after 40 years of being a loyal customer....it might be time for a divorce!!!

Yep same issue for me!!! Ready to cut Comcast all together. I’m so done with the crazy expensive bill and services seem to be getting worse! All the shows I watched had smart resume and all of a sudden it’s gone on all of them. I’ve reset my box, checked my settings and nothing. All my shows are recorded in HD and mostly on NBC, ANMBC, TLC. Over this!! Clearly there is a Comcast issue!

Not working for me either.  Older recordings have it but most recent ones no longer have it.  I've verified the feature is turned on and I've restarted my box.

My smart resume has worked for programs from the last two night but I wouldn’t be surprised if it stopped.  I didn’t do anything special or different. Oh well.
