Smart Resume

I am sad that Smart Resume has been discontinued. I know it was a Comcast Labs option, I just wish they made it a permanent option.

Where did you get the idea it’s discontinued? It’s just not in Comcast Labs anymore, works just fine

Seems to me that this means it will never grow to more channels and shows. With their lousy skip feature even after changing it to 30 seconds can't handle more than two times in a row. This is not acceptable when smart resume doesn't work. Other companies I can press skip six times as fast as I can and it will just jump 3 minutes. The voice command for fast forward doesn't seem to work for 1/2 increment minutes such as 2 and 1/2 minutes. I have to convert the darn thing to second such as 150 seconds for 2 1/2 minutes. These devices seem to have severely outdated CPUs, processing speeds, ancient software! I am not a satisfied customer after changing to Comcast!
PS we shouldn't have to change the skip from 5 minutes to 30 seconds. It should come that way! Who wants to skip forward/back in 5 minute increments? After living 60yrs I've never seen a 5 minute commercial break.

voice: fast forward 2 minutes 30 seconds (do not add 'and' in the time)"

I LOVE this new feature! I can just press fast forward and walk away or look down at whatever project I might be doing while watching my recordings.

People may not use their DVRs so much anymore which is too bad because this is an awesome new luxury!

I LOVE it also! That's why I'm bummed about Comcast Labs dropping it. If you're curious Google "commercial Advance" on old VHS VCRs. Same thing back then but you didn't even have to press FF.
Comcast shouldn't bow to advertisers and continue working on Smart Resume.

Thanks! I'll give it a try! More information always helps. Who knows, we just might learn something.
Thank you

When it’s not in Comcast Labs, that means it’s a permanent fixture of the X1 platform

Okay, but does it mean that they will continue to improve it and add channels/shows or just NOT remove and stop it?
Will we see more shows being marked for skipping? That's my $64,000 question.
I totally love it's function and hate to see it not improved.
