Smart Resume - Apple TV

The Smart Resume feature is absent in the Xfi Stream app on Apple TV. The bars in a shows  timeline that indicate commercials are missing. The shows I'm referring to are primetime shows on ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX.

The same shows on my DVR set top box feature Smart Resume and it works as intended. 

I'm not sure if this is an isolated issue with my Apple TV or if this is a feature that has yet to be implemented. For the record, I do see the ability to toggle Smart Resume on/off in the Stream app settings but nothing happens.

Hi, @Wodiamond. Thank you for reaching out for assistance. The Smart Resume feature is only available on certain programs. If the same programs show Smart Resume on the DVR, it should also be available on the Xfinity Stream app. Have you attempted to uninstall/reinstall the app on your TV?

I have the same issue.  The Smart Resume is present on the DVR but not on the Xfinity Stream app on Apple TV.  I deleted and reinstalled the app, toggled the Smart Resume on/off but it is still not present.

@asilenak Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. I can understand how this can cause a lot of frustration. I love having the Smart Resume on my app to bypass all the commercials. May I ask what type of smart TV you are using? Have you had the opportunity to check and make sure that the TV is using the latest firmware?

My Apple TV has the same issue and it is not the tv since the tv Xfinity app does it. It’s the Apple TV the one with the issue. Removing and reinstalling the app does nothing. It is just an excuse.

Having the exact same issue. There are so many posts regarding this, and each time, Xfinity acts like it’s the first time they’ve heard of it. AppleTV 4K here, no programs at all on DVR have smart resume available on Xfinity stream with AppleTV but if I switch over to the X1 box, those same programs do.

The issue of Smart Resume not working on apps still exists.  Would like to be able to use this feature on TVs that are not connected to a cabled tv box.  The Xfinity app for Roku does not even have the Smart Resume feature available in settings.  The Apple TV app has the feature, but recorded shows do not have the tell-tale yellow lines (but do in the tv box recording) and fast-forwarding does not stop after commercial breaks.  Why have the feature if it doesn't work?
