Select an SD channel without turning off highest-resolution preference?

I have my X1 box preferences set to automatically choose the highest-resolution version of a channel.  95% of the time that's exactly what I want.  But there is one particular channel where the HD version occasionally has issues, in which case I watch its SD version.  But the only way I know to get to the SD version is to go into preferences and turn off the automatic highest-resolution option.  And then turn it back on when I'm done watching.

It would be great if there were instead some shortcut or trick to temporarily override the highest-resolution preference without turning it off entirely.  Is there a way?  Thanks.

No ideas?  Unfortunately the HD version of the channel in question has been acting up a lot lately (frequent temporary freezing and pixelization).  I don't mind watching this channel in SD instead, but -- as described in my initial post --  it's inconvenient having to keep toggling my "prefer-highest-resolution" setting on and off.

If there's not a shortcut or workaround I can use, I'd appreciate confirmation of this fact from a Comcast associate.  Thanks.

Hello @Dennis25, thanks for reaching out for help with your TV resolution settings.

You can easily switch between higher and lower resolutions on your X1 TV Box — including to 4K UHD. From within a program’s mini info panel, you’ll see a Watch in 4K UHDWatch in HD or Watch in SD button. Selecting the available option will change the program to the desired resolution on your X1 TV Box.

However, if your Prefer Best Available Resolution setting is set to on, you won’t be able to downgrade the resolution on your X1 Box.
