Same XR-15 UQ v-2 Remote (with Same Clunky sound when pressing the remote. It takes 3 presses minimum to get the mic to function properly.)

XR15 UQ V-2 remote gives error sound when pressing Voice button UNTIL 3rd press. It's LOUD and Distracting..

I have the XR-15 UQ remote and most of the time it works perfectly. [almost 100% of the time] when I press the voice button it makes this God Awful,  error sound instead of the usual beep to tell you to begin speaking

I think it's because someone's listening,  but is Big Brother Real???(cough YES) ANYWAY,  back to remote Mics, who else has this? How do we fix it. When,  neither,  replacing the batteries, nor rebooting the box fixes this

remote? I'm tired of this, and wish this could be a question so I could learn the Percentage of customers with this terrible sound coming from their remote..

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your remote and the voice function. Have your tried to reset the remote?

If the buttons on your Voice Remote (XR15) are still unresponsive, you may need to perform a factory reset. To perform a factory reset:

  1. Press and hold the A (triangle) and D (diamond) buttons at the same time for three seconds until the status light changes from red to green.
  2. Press 9-8-1.
  3. The LED will blink blue three times to indicate that the remote was reset.

The factory reset unpairs your remote and TV Box, so you'll need to re-pair them (TV Box needs to be activated prior to re-pairing)

Pairing Your Voice Remote With Your Xfinity TV Box

Aim the Voice Remote at your X1 TV Box or Flex TV Box, press the Microphone (Voice) button and say, "Program remote." Follow the on-screen instructions.

If that doesn’t work:

  1. Aim your remote at the TV Box (must have a clear line of sight).
  2. Press the A button on your remote.
  3. Choose Remote Setup on your TV.
  4. You’ll be asked, “Do you want to use your remote to control your TV power and volume?” Select Yes.
  5. You’ll receive a notification that your remote is now paired for voice control. You’ll then be asked, “Would you like to control your TV using your remote?” Select Yes.
  6. Type in the brand of your TV using the on-screen letters and numbers, if applicable. Then, select OK.
  7. You should see a notification that your remote is now Ready to pair. Select OK.
  8. Confirm your pairing was successful by attempting to adjust the volume on your TV.
    • If you can adjust the volume with your remote, select It Works!
    • If you cannot adjust the volume with your remote, select It Doesn’t Work, and repeat the process again.

Once your Voice Remote is paired, follow the on-screen instructions to set up power, volume and input control for your TV and audio equipment.
