Rewind and Fast Forward

When I rewind or fast forward and resume playing the program, the program never resumes at the point I hit play. It always jumps forward or backward several seconds depending on the whether I am rewinding or fast forwarding. I push play when I want the program to play. How do I get my DVR to stop auto advancing or auto rewinding? This is driving me nuts.

This has been around for a long time, even before X1. It's supposedly trying to adjust for human reaction time.

I am calling collusion between (this company) and its advertisers. I typically use the 4x button and am able to stop it right on cue. The red flag comes in when I intentionally go past my desired point, about 10-+ seconds to account for this and (this company) still takes it back to the last 10-+seconds of any given commercial. Does anyone else see this? Please comment.
