Retirement Facility supplies Comcast in little white wall box....Remote??

So we are ditching the weirdo samsung tv and trying a vizio.

The retirement IT guy told me they are now sending HD to each room so my parents no longer need the black xfinity box they've been paying for.

Soooo....tomorrow when we take down the old samsung and mount the new 50" Vizio, and hook it up to that little white box, what remote do we use?  We have that giant button remote comcast sent that's a third party and we have the xfinity remote that came with the black box.

I'm suspicious that giant button remote is acting up. So if we don't have that, what do we do?

From experience installing those DTAs, we usually have extra remotes to the IT person or management so they could take care of residents eliminating a need for a service call. Maybe your son can check with whoever is on site

FYI, the guide will be different on the white box and depending on service level there’s less channels available, no premium channels and no On Demand

Spoiler
Thank you!

Actually the IT person isn't working tomorrow so we're hoping to get thing set up ourselves.

I went into their account online and it's saying it is having trouble finding signal. Good grief. I spent FOUR HOURS there trying to sort this out. My poor parents, they're 90 and it's all they can do. We've had so much trouble. 😞

We'll try to link the big button remote and a regular xfinity remote and hopefully they will work.
