Reset cable box

I need to reset my cable box to get rid of an error message. How do I do that?

Hi @holly_m! Thank you for reaching out on Xfinity Forums for help with this TV issue. How frustrating that you're seeing an error message! No worries, I can definitely help.

We have a few different ways to reset the cable box listed here. I prefer to use the Xfinity My Account app as the quickest route! Here are the steps:

1. Open the Xfinity My Account app (available for iOS and Android.)
2. Scroll down and select the TV tile.
3. Select Troubleshoot.
4. You will be presented with two options:
- System Refresh: fixes most common issues by restarting all the boxes inside your home. (This can take up to 10 minutes.) 
- Restart Device: will allow you to select one TV Box to restart. (This can take up to five minutes to complete.)
5. Select your preferred method and press Start Troubleshooting.
