Replacing a lost remote

My voice remote has been lost somewhere in my house. I understand I can download the app on my phone or pick up a replacement remote at a service center, free of charge.

 

My question is this - if I pick up a replacement remote, will I then have to pay the ridiculously high monthly rental cost for BOTH?  If the answer is yes, are there other options?
