removing residue on remotes

The last two new remotes I've gotten have had a tacky residue on them.  Does anyone know how to move it.  I've tried 409 cleaner to no avail.

The concern is not "Home Security Devices And Equipment" help related........................ Topic moved here to the TV help section for assistance.

That is a great question, WAGGGG! I typically use disinfectant wipes or make my own using Isopropyl Alcohol on a towel and wipe down the surface to clean my remotes. You could also try using a cotton swab, microfiber cloth, toothbrush, or, even a toothpick to get into every crevice. I hope this info helps, and look forward to reading other users' suggestions too!
