Remote reset issue

Hello,

My remote stopped working so I did the reset and then the volume and power werent working so i tried to to the fix for that as well. The directions say to hold the xfinity and mute button until it turns red to green, but it never turns solid red when i hold them together. They both flash red when i hit them seperetly though. Please help. Thank you!
