Remote pairing to box in other room
My XR15 remote was not pairing with the cable box in my den, but with my living room. I told customer support, and they sent me a new XR11 as a replacement. Naturally, it didn't work, and the box in my den remains useless. I've looked for any actual solutions to this and all I ever find is links to https://www.xfinity.com/support/remotes which isn't about cable boxes, it's for pairing a remote with a tv or audio device.
Do I have to completely depower the main box for the secondary unit to be responsive? Won't that kill the coax connection they share?

point the remote directly to the set top box. press the Xfinity button and the info button down (i) at the same time until LED on remote changes color. you will see a code on the TV you are watching. type those 3 numbers in and the remote will then be paired to that set top box.

That's exactly what I said did not work: the box in the living room tries to pair up, because it's all bluetooth and not infared.
