Remote Batteries

We have X1 black remote, about 6-7", with microphone.  We rarely use the microphone,  Problem is that we have to change the batteries every few weeks.  Is this normal?

While mileage on various battery brands may vary, that does sound like too quick a turnaround time to be replacing new batteries,
rufus97. Did you know you can get a new remote at a nearby Xfinity service center? We can help ship a replacement too.

Thanks for replying.  Yes, please ship a replacement.  Same type of remote.  Also, apparently our modem/router is EOL. so we need  new one of that.  Same type.  Might as well ask:  Since November marks our 40 years with Comcast (not including several years at another address), would it be possible for a Technician to come here to install modem/router, and deliver new remote, at no charge to us.  I know you'll say that modem/router is easy to change, but there's a lot of wires there.  Also, lately, we've experienced at times a lot of pixels, screen freezing and losing sound for several seconds. Thank you.

Good afternoon @rufus97, we'd be happy to assist with shipping a new remote and modem as well as schedule a technician to come install the equipment. I also see that you stated that you have been experiencing pixelation issues and your screen freezing. We'll definitely be able to assist with troubleshooting those issues as well. To get started, can you please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name along with the service address on the account?

To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "Direct Message chat" icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

We look forward to working with you further.
