Hello, user_cd51f6! Thank you for choosing Xfinity and joining us here on the Forums! Let's work through a few troubleshooting steps to help narrow down what's causing the recording playback issue.

To start, unplug the power cable from the back of your Xfinity X1 TV Box.  Wait 30 to 60 seconds. Plug the box back in and allow 2 to 5 minutes for it to fully reboot and reconnect.

We'll also want to test the recording on another device by opening the Xfinity Stream app on a mobile device, tablet, Roku, or access the Xfinity Stream portal through a web browser. Play the same recording that's experiencing the issue. If the recording plays normally on the app or web portal but not on your TV Box, the issue may be related to the box itself or the connection to that device. If the recording fails at the same point on every device, the recording file may have become corrupted.

If you're using the Xfinity Stream app or web portal clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or try an Incognito/Private browsing window. On mobile or streaming devices, completely close the Xfinity Stream app, wait a couple of minutes, and reopen it.  You can also uninstall and reinstall the app to ensure you're running a clean, updated version.

If a specific recording is corrupted, fast-forwarding or skipping the affected section typically won't correct the issue. Delete the affected recording from your Saved list. For recurring series recordings, try removing and recreating the series recording. If available, check whether the episode can be viewed through On Demand instead.

If the issue continues, please let us know!
