Recording show limit

I was told and also read that I can record 6 programs at one time, but I have been unable to do that. After I've recorded 2 the third says there is a conflict and this will cancel the other recording. I have 4 tv's and only 2 shows can be recorded throughout the household.

Am I doing something wrong?
