Recording on DVR are skipping

Hello,

In the last few days all of my DVR recordings will not play back without several skips in the programs. I can not watch any of the recorded shows without interruptions. I’ve unplugged, turned off, restarted, ect. Nothing seems to be fixing it. Please help!

Same issues here in Littleton Colorado. Spoke to Xfinity rep on the phone and chat and they both said it was due to a service outage on a pole in my area...which clearly isn't true due to people all over the country having issues as well. Then they sent me a super helpful link to monitor the outage in my area, and low and behold when I clicked the link it said there were no outages detected anywhere near me! So not sure where to go from here.

I'm in IL and been having the exact same issues everyone else had been having for the same amount of time.  It's frustrating because I record shows and movies so I don't have to dsit through commercials.

Since this is a system wide problem, does that mean we all get refunds?

Add me to the list. East Metro Atlanta area. Live TV is fine. Buffered, non-recorded live TV is fine. Old recordings are fine. Anything I record tonight is awful. Big Brother was unwatchable. Box is 2.5 years old, zero issues before tonight.

Same problem in Colorado for shows recorded today. Recording from previous days are OK. This is clearly a system problem. Why isn’t someone from Comcast replying with some useful information?

Mine is doing the same thing! I just called and was advised that its a national issue thats currently being worked on.  I also texted the phone number given and it states there is an outage as well. And they wonder why I refuse to sign on for another 2 years.

Having the same problem as everyone else starting today in the San Francisco Bay Area. Cannot play today's recordings. Previous recordings play fine.  Comcast did a System Refresh which did not solve the problem. Called Comcast and the automated voice said they are aware of the problem and will  notify me when it's fixed.

Customers who have converted fully to the XFinity X1 platform need to know that, with X1 you no longer have a hard drive in your DVR box. All the recordings with X1 are stored in “the cloud”, not in your box. “The cloud” accually refers to large capacity storage servers that are maintained by Comcast.

The old DVR’s did have hard drives inside your box to record programs, but this is no longer the case with the XFinity X1 platform.

Same problem happening here in Sacramento. I just tried to call Comcast at the 1-800-xfinity number. After saying “TV” as my response for the reason for my call, I got a message that there are so many calls coming or this problem that they cannot talk to any more customers! The message states that they are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it.

I’m having problems with my DVR recordings.  It just started today.  Aggravating! Unwatchable.  I have to delete all today’s saved programs.

If the problem is with the cloud, then I understand. But why is there a problem playing the local DVR recording, and then switching to the cloud recording. Why would a cloud problem cause the local DVR recording to fail to play. I know it is being saved locally.

If I have the X1 tuned to the channel I’m recording, I can rewind and watch the show that was just recorded. And it play fine. But if I go to the DVR menu and play it, I get the 3 dots while it tries to play the local recording and then switches to the horrible cloud recording.
