Recording by device

Used to be able to sort recordings by device they were recorded from. That feature is now gone.  Thanks for taking a step backwards. My wife and I have very different tastes and prefer to have separate lists. For a technology company you leave a lot to be desired.  Your web site is slower than molasses and your X1boxes launch apps at a snails pace.

I agree! I relied heavily on just seeing my recordings only. Now it's a jumbled mess with the wife's recordings mixed in.. Thanks Comcast!! NOT...

Until recently I was also able to sort recordings by device where the recording was set up, and I have lost that ability. How do I get that option back?

Thanks for your comment user_kurf4o! Our X1 equipment is currently able to sort your recordings and purchases by most recently added/purchased or in alphabetical order from A to Z. When you were sorting your recordings by device previously, how were you accessing them?

The feature they are talking about was located in saved/recordings on the drop-down bar after sort and filter. Also in saved/scheduled in the drop-down bar after view and series priority. It allowed you to see a list of recordings by set-top box i.e. all or living room or bedroom or dungeon or whatever you named them. It wasn't a sorted list, just a separate list for each box/device. It disappeared from these locations maybe 2 months ago. It was also in settings (gear)/preferences. That location vanished 2-3 weeks later. I have searched through all the menus to see if it was moved but can't find anything. Would be nice to have back as my 88 year old mom records a crapload (77 recordings right now) and I have 1. I have to scroll through all of hers to find mine. As the others have asked, why is it gone? Is there any way to get it back? Is it still there somewhere and I'm just too stupid to find it? 

PS I've asked at 5 different Xfinity stores in my area and they have all been clueless.

Hi Bodmline, I'm a big fan of the DVR as well, and love catching up on my movies over the weekend. I can see why this particular sort/filter was helpful for you. It sounds like I have a lot in common with your mom lol. You can review all the available sort and filter options listed in this 'Walkthrough'. By device isn't an option at this time. Did you have any other DVR concerns I could help with?

The sort recordings by device was a very useful feature. I don’t know why it was removed. I have three cable/DVR boxes in three separate rooms. I record and watch on the living room and my bedroom TV and my sister records and watches on her bedroom TV. We have a lot of recordings between us. Before we only saw our own recordings on our own TV’s/boxes. Now she sees all my recordings and I can see all of her recordings with no option to separate them. I don’t want her to watch my recordings and accidentally delete them. I know have to constantly review the “Recently Deleted” section to make sure my recordings don’t get lost. 

I like to know the reason why this useful feature was removed. And I would love to have it back!
