Recorded Program Unknowingly Deleted
We use the default recording option on the DVR often, where the current station selected retains the last hour of programming. However (and sadly), if you inadvertantly change chanels on the remote, the recorder hour is magically blown away (deleted), never to be gotten back. Couldn't this be fixed?

Under Menu > Saved > Recordings, I can scroll all the way down to Recently Deleted and recover quite a few deleted recordings from there. Do you not have this option (or does it not work in your particular use case)?

live TV can be buffered and is lost when you change the channel. That is not a setting of the DVR, it is stored on the attached memory card. If you hit record the recording (called a 'hot' recording) starts from recording button confirmation to end of program.

Starts from recording button confirmation? Well that socks. When I press the record button on my DirecTV DVR it saves everything from the past buffer that it can for the programming that I'm recording. Why can't the ComcasTV DVR save everything in the buffer?

Thank you MrTom44 - exactly as you said! "Why can't the DVR save the buffered content?" That is what I was meaning to ask. At least it could give an option with a message "Do you want to delete the recorded content on this channel?" when you accidentally change the channel (which deletes it without warning).

Good suggestion - but it did not work in my case. I guess the proper term for what I call the "default recording" of the current program is "buffering." As I never hit the record button for these one hour buffered recordings, they do not show up in the deleted list after they are lost.
