Record ALL episodes

How do I force my DVR to record all episodes, new and repeats (including ones my DVR knows I've watched before?) It seems my DVR knows that I've watched and previously deleted an episode, so it's assuming I don't want to record it again. I do. How do I force it?

many ways to get to the recording options. one is to press the xfinity button, go to scheduled, press down then up, then right to 'series priority, press ok. press down until you get to the program you wish to adjust. press the "i" button (info), then select record options when the show title screen comes up. Select Modify, move to 'record' and select new and repeat episodes. navigate to top and select confirm.

@Rustyben no luck with the priority thing. It's set as #1 and still won't record. I tried something: I forced a 1 time recording and looking at it in my list of recordings it is marked as "watched" even though it was watched and deleted 8 months ago. How do I clear the memory? I have a feeling this is why it won't record these repeats.

Thanks, no luck. Show is top priority and still won't record all. Any other ideas?

not talking about moving to priority. recheck the directions so you get the menu to modify future recordings.

@Rustyben yes. I followed those directions, (as well as setting the priority, which I read on an different post), still no luck. Still not recording.

have a screenshot for the setting? when you try to view that channel live does video appear or say not subscribed?

@Rustyben it's a channel included in my package, and I've recorded and viewed this show multiple times (FXX). Don't see a way to add an image to this response, though. But I can state it shows "record new and repeat episodes" "HD preferred" save "until  space is needed" keep " all episodes".  Again, I would ask if there's a way to delete all viewing history ever so that the box doesn't know what's been viewed ever?

@user_f6d9c4.

Here's an overview of how your DVR compiles recordings.

  • Only New Episodes -A new episode is airing for the first time on a given network. This means the DVR will only record episodes that the network has listed as "new" and will not record any episodes that the network has listed as "repeat".
  • New and Repeat - This means the DVR will record all episodes of this show, regardless of channel, HD/SD definition, or new/repeat listings.

New "repeats" will replace older recordings. At this time, there is no option to change that.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I've got it set for new and repeat, however, an additional item no one seems to be able to explain is that if I've recorded, watched, and deleted a "repeat episode" a year ago the DVR is assuming I don't want to record it again. In this case, I do want to record and re watch. Is there a way to delete or clear my entire watch history so that the DVR doesn't make these assumptions?

@user_f6d9c4 Hmm, we definitely understand what you're asking but there is not currently a feature that would be able to do that. If you do love a particular show and find yourself rewatching episodes, we would recommend not deleting these recordings until you are ready to free up space (if necessary).

@Rustyben great concept, but this show airs on about 4 different networks. So setting for "all" "new and repeat"  "HD preferred"  is the only one that catches all networks. If I do FXXHD only, then it omits other channels... And just as a test, I did FXXHD only, it still skips ones it remembers me watching a year ago.
