Rca/Konka TV remote not pairing

So I have been searching high and low how to pair my xr15 to my rca tv (which says is made by Konka) nothing worked. Code after code I still couldn't pair the remote. Reset the TV restarted the Xfinity box. The solution I finally got to work was I held the a and d buttons until the light stayed solid green then I entered 991 and starting hitting the channel up button until the TV turned off and hit the center or ok button. That was the solution. I really needed this victory!
