Quarter screen on Samsung Q8F television (2025 model)

Just bought a 42” Samsung Q8F television Sep 2025 connected to my Xfinity X1 box into HDMI1 connection.

Watched the television for two days with no issue. Today the TV displays the Xfinity video as a minimized window on the left side of the screen (as if in Multi View mode to watch two videos).

Checked Samsung setup and Picture Size set to 16:9 Standard.
Verified the Multi View option was not enabled.

Changed input on TV to my DVD player on HDMI2, full screen displays.
Changed input on TV to  a streaming app, full screen displays.

After an hour of resetting the television nothing corrected the problem. That is when I looked at Xfinity X1 box setup.

Everything was set correctly but I changed Video Display setting to “refresh” the settings to the Samsung TV. That corrected the problem.

Solution…

IF Xfinity video displays minimized on left side of Samsung television screen

Access Xfinity X1 box setup > Device Settings > Video Display 

Change Video Display setting from 16:9, 1080p HD to 4:3, 480p SD

Verify television displays full screen (not just upper left corner of screen)

Change Video Display setting back to 16:9, 1080p HD

Samsung television now shows Xfinity video full screen and correct aspect ratio
