Programing my original remote to work on my new/replaced X1 box?

I had to replace a broken X1 cable box & would like to use the original remote with the new X1 cable box. Is it posible to program the remote that came with the returned X1 to work on the new X1 cable box? The new X1 cable box came with it's own remote but it is slightly differant than the remote we have been used to so I would like to just program the original remote to control the new X1 cable box. Thanks

You shouldn’t need to reprogram your tv/audio

If the above doesn’t work, factory reset your remote and try again

Thanks for your reply andyross. It appears to be an XR11. After going to the link you provided & highlighting my model & clicking continue there is a dropdown list to help sync the remote but there is no option to sync to an X1 cable box. Any advice on next moves would be appreciated. Thanks

Look here to see what model you have:

Unless it's really old, it should be reprogrammable. The old silver remotes can be coded, but I did find one of the keys (EXIT I think) was not mapped by default, but you can map the correct code onto it. Also, if it is somewhat newer, like the XR2, it may already be programmed as Comcast has used the same code set since the later Motorola's and all X1's and DTA's.
