Power Saver Mode

I want my TV to stay on all the time, for as long as I want it to be on. Xfinity does not pay my power bill so they shouldn’t concern themselves with my energy consumption. I pay my Xfinity bill to have my WiFi and tv on for as long as I want. I’m an adult with adult money. This nap mode has to go!

user_hi36sh I can understand your concern there, though it does help energy efforts overall. You do have the option to turn off the Power Saver option:

• Press the Xfinity button on your remote.
• Select Settings (the gear icon).
• Choose Device Settings.
• Select Power Preferences.
• Select Power Saver.
• Press OK to switch the setting to Off.
• Press Exit when finished.

I’ve done this, it does not keep my tv from turning off. I’m not even sure the purpose of that setting. But it doesn’t change anything about the tv timing off.

user_hi36sh the steps provided do turn off the Power Saver functionality. This will not keep the box on indefinitely, though, and if the X1 box goes into an inactive modem after no activity, this will then communicate to your TV, which most new TVs have a similar power-saving feature. 
 
 

What happens when my X1 TV Box is inactive for a long period of time?
There are two modes for your TV Box when there has been no activity for four hours. Power Saver mode, which conserves your power, and Nap Mode, which does not save power.

 

Your TV Box will automatically go into Nap Mode after four hours of inactivity if you do not have Power Saver on. If Power Saver mode is on, you will see an "Are You Still There?" message on your screen. If you do not respond to this message, your TV Box will go into Power Saver mode.

 

When you wake up your TV Box from either mode, you’ll see a “Welcome Back” message on the top of your screen.

 

So, the box is either in Power Save or Nap Mode.

It is ny understanding that there is no way to tell the X1 to stay on all the time.  If Power Saver is On, the box turns off and there's no output to the screen. If Power Saver is Off, the box goes into Nap mode.  It stays on with a screen saver displayed.  But, the content you are watching stops.
