power outage 6 days ago and new remote does not work

I can't get through using two different phone numbers for Comcast.  Had a power outage here last Tuesday, spoke to someone from comcast who said problem sounded like a needed a new remote.   I just got the new remote and it does not work. It won't turn the tv on or off, it doesn't do anything.  Does this sound like I need a new cable box? I have two tvs, one in the living room with a larger cable box and the one that doesn't work is the tv in the bedroom that uses a smaller cable box.   Can someone please help me? Thanks.

There’s your reason why it can’t control the tv, you have to set the code. Follow the link’s instructions, maybe a neighbor or family member can help. Also, make sure the tv works with the actual tv remote. Power surge after an outage can do crazy things to electronics

ok, i was able to do what you said and the new remote appears to be working. thank you. the only problem is the new remote won't turn the tv off. can u help

i just tried to do what you said, and hit the reset button, but nothing came on my tv screen where i could type in a code.

Did you set the code on the new remote for your tv? Does the actual tv remote work with the tv? Cable boxes have no control over the tv controls.

not only cant i turn off the tv, when i put the volume as high as it will go, i still cant hear the tv

when i press on the power button on the new remote, it won't even turn on the tv
