Picture Quality concerns with Xi6 boxes.

Hello we were recently given Xi6 boxes as upgrades for our XG1v3 and XiD-C boxes. The XG1v3 was originally on a 2021 LG C1 OLED TV while the XiD-C on a 2017 Sony X8

00e LED TV of the same size. Unfortunately when we were given the new boxes the employee at the store deactivated our old equipment.

I do not know if its our imagination but we have found the picture quality to be worse with the new boxes compared to the previous X1 coax connected boxed we had for watching regular cable channels, recordings, or on demand. Basically anything that's 720 or 1080 resolution. We've noticed watching those sources happen to look quite grainy in texture like watching TV through rough paper with a lot of digital noise and artifacts.  This makes details harder to make out then before especially distant objects or whenever fast motion is involved.

changing 2.1 certified HDMI cables out for new ones along with turning on both enhanced 4K HDMI (Sony) or deep color settings (LG) seems to made little difference(other then improving color). I noticed that Xi6 up converts 720 & 1080 content to 4K to then be sent out to the TV. It's possible both of our TVs do a better job at up-scaling lower resolution content then the Xi6 boxes however lowering the video output resolution under device settings on the X1 platform didn't seem to make a difference either. Also the Xi6s connected over wireless or ethernet didn't mater.

I'm now at point were I'm trying to decide if we can live with reduced picture clarity and what boxes we're sending back. Its nice that the Xi6 perform significantly faster but not at the cost of the picture.

This brings me to a couple support related questions. I had thought out of all the boxes I had that the XiD-C had the best picture which I understand is a IP client fed over MoCA.  In the past I know you had to have a main DVR (the XG1v3) acting as the hub. Can the XiD now be fed off an Xfinity internet gateway such as our XB8 through MoCA instead? There been a few post on Reddit from people claiming to be techs saying this works.

If not the XiD-C I would like to be able to at least be able to deactivate one Xi6 and reactivate one of our old boxes to be able confirm the picture is indeed worse on the new equipment before reaching a final decision. I may also be ok with adding two additional boxes to our account for a month (eating the extra $24) if its too much trouble.
