picture not filling tv screen

many tv  channels from 300 to 350 not filling screen, problem started Nov 3, 2023, told this is just not in my area.

Hey, @user_8613f7! Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums! I apologize to hear that these channels are not filling the screen. If these are standard-definition channels, it's possible they are formatted correctly. When you switch to the HD channels of the same stations does it fill in the full TV or does it still look letterboxed?

@user_8613f7 I appreciate that information, when you have time would you be able to check your TV Aspect Ratio: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/tv-aspect-troubleshooting? 

 

If you're using a X1 set-top box, the display should automatically configure. You can also check your Video Display in the settings: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-video-display.

my x1 set top box does not automatically configure. this was a large area problem.it all started after pixilation. had service man here and was told that I will still have bars on top and bottom of screen, this is the way its broadcast. This happened in 2018 and in 2021 and it was corrected by Xfinity

it's cropped on all my tv's , it is a wide area problem, so it can't be my box's. Can't someone check how it was fixed in 2018,2021.
