Peacock Premium

My new X1 TV box did not come with a Voice Remote. How do I access Peacock Premium? I have not yet accessed that service.

You should be able to access any app by typing the name of the app on the remote keypad. (Peacock = 7322625). That being said, I don't think your particular cable box has the ability to run apps. I'm trying to look into this right now.

Can you tell me a little more about what happened when you came in? Was this the only cable box they had available, or was it just the only one that could support X1 in your area? I'm trying to find that out as well, but I was wondering if they offered you any insight.

I don't know the technical details. We just took our old TV box to the local service center to swap it for an X1 box. We got what we got. I asked the serviceman if the remote was voice, and he asked if we wanted a voice remote. My wife said no. She'd rather have the "pushy" one that came with the new box. We were not told that the new remote would limit access to features with the new X1 TV box.  I wonder now if a voice remote is required to access all features of the new box. If so, a voice remote should have come with the new box. But the new box seems to work fine for us. So far, so good.

Thank you for letting me know. I double-checked with my support team, and it sounds like the Xfinity Store may have just been out of stock of the XG2 boxes. Those are the newer boxes that come with a voice remote, and have access to streaming apps like Peacock, Netflix, Hulu, etc. I would be more than happy to ship you one of those boxes for free, if you are interested, but that is completely up to you. If you are happy with the box you have, we can just leave things as they are.

If it's a true X1 box, you don't need a voice remote. Just press XFINITY (or MENU or whatever it's labeled on the remote), then go to APPS.
