Old X1 DVR with 150 hours local storage vs new 20 hour Cloud DVR offer

@ComcastCares  Let me try again: I've been with Comcast over 25 years and currently have an X1 DVR box that supposedly has 150 hours of storage in the box itself for $19.95 ~ ($10 for DVR plus $9.95 HD fee).

I never use it outside the home to access recordings from the cloud via the stream app because any series recordings I record are never all available to see when I'm away from home. In fact, there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which of my recordings show up when I sign into the Xfinity Stream App so to me it's useless.

My package is expiring and I can't find a clear answer about their basic 20 hour Cloud DVR box for $7.50/month. I've been told that all their packages now include HD free and come with the 20 hour Cloud DVR which has no local storage. Can anybody clarify???

If my current X1 DVR is 42% full can I not just keep it without paying extra? Or will I lose all my saved recordings by accepting a new package that includes only the 20 hour Cloud DVR? I THINK I NEED AN EXPERT FROM THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT TO EXPLAIN!  Please help me understand.

Xfinity has upgraded all customers (like me) that have a home-based DVR set top box to cloud DVR 150 hours (up from 60). the 20 hour DVR lite with 2 tuners is a different service level.  in many packages, the first set top HD box is included so the fee for a DVR is $10. an HD box was $10 now with new contracts or no contract price is $7.50 (so DVR in home would be $17.50).

yeah this is confusing and when when acting as a new customer selecting a cloud dvr plan it asks you if you want a box and does not state that it comes with a box.

based on the response in the forum thread i provided a link to below - which states that all cloud dvr plans require a dvr box - i would assume that the new x1 cloud dvr plans come with a dvr box??  it does not state a $10 fee for hd or dvr.

i'm good on price... $10 more to go from 20gb to 150gb.  but if you stay at 20gb then i understand the cloud dvr is limited to 20gb but i'm curious if you can use more than 20gb on your dvr box.

Hi, @sferrell_615. I know you have a few questions about your plan, and the offers you see online. In some areas, we did add 20 hours of Cloud DVR service included with certain offers that do not require a physical DVR or TV box. You can actually add this on, for example, if you only have a Roku or an eligible smart TV using the Xfinity Stream Beta App. That is why you may see the option to not have a TV box. There are select boxes that this won't work with, so I'd like to check your account to accurately answer this as it pertains to your region and plan.

Please send me a [Modmail message](https://comca.st/2XpSnKG) and include your full name and service address to get started. I love to cover the plans in detail including all the prices you need.
