Not recording programmed channel

I ave been setting my DVR to record a specific channel Saturdays from 10 AM to 12:30. The channel is 1167. For some reason it goes to 1005 and records that. I switched out the converter/DVR at the local Xfinity store but it is still recording the wrong channel. What's the issue and how do we rectify it?

Hi there, @user_b43e86

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing these recording issues. I know it is important to make sure the correct show and channel are being recorded. To get a better understanding, can you tell us what show/episode you are trying to record and then what ends up being recorded? I would be more than happy to help get this resolved for you!

@XfinityMary The show I was recording is The Price Is Right (the original Bill Cullen version) which is on Buzzr. But I think I know what's going on. Buzzr is a subchannel of WAGA, Atlanta which is our Fox affiliate. So at 10 AM, WAGA is bumping Buzzr and airing Standard definition simulcast of what's on their main channel. I have sent them a letter about this.

Have you checked your settings for the recording, @user_b43e86? Sometimes when recordings are set, they can get scheduled to record the program in HD, so the channel automatically changes to the program in HD. You may also want to check the priority order of the recordings. I would need to check your specific channel lineup. If you would like, please send a Direct Message with your name and address, so I may look into those two channels for you.

I am experiencing a problem in which I cannot record programming on Freeform (channel 881). I have made several recordings for movies airing over the next couple of days and my box says that I am not subscribed to that channel even though I can easily access it. I tried using the power button and unplugging the box, and nothing seems to be working thus far. Is there any way of fixing this?

@user_0c4c56 I am experiencing the same exact problem but on a different channel.  Unfortunately, we're dealing with the worst customer service dept on the planet earth.

Hey @user_0c4c56!

I'm sorry to hear you are having a similar issue too.

Try resetting your gateway too, as it will often hold channel entitlements and sometimes helps with this issue.

If it's still not working after you give that a try, then send us a  Direct Message with your first and last name as well as your service address so we can take a closer look!

To send a Direct Message, please click on the chat icon on the top right of this page, next to the bell. Make sure to send the message to our singular handle "Xfinity Support" and we will get back to you ASAP.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I am trying to record the golf channel Hi-Def which in my area is 749. I have always done this without a problem up until 5 months ago when it would default to recording the standard definition golf channel 082. I have tried canceling the recurring recordings and setting the recording to the hi-de channel several times, and double checked that the red dots that indicate a recording is set are visible and all of it looks okay but when I go to look at the recording it's not in high-def. It reverts to recording the standard def channel. Can you help me with this?
