No sounds on TV through X1 box?

This just started happening today. I have a 50 inch Vizio V series TV I bought last week and everything has been going well until today when the sound just stopped working. I thought it was the TV, but I my Xbox plays sound just fine. I thought it was the HDMI port, swapped ports and the Xbox still put out sound fine. So I thought it was the cable box, so I swapped cable boxes from another room and the sound works fine. I ended up swapping X1 boxes at my local xfinity store and the sound still does NOT work, even with the new box.. Does anyone know what it could be?

is your set top box connected directly to HDMI1 or HDMI2 on the TV? do you have a sound bar or receiver?

No audio receiver. The set top box is connected directly to HDMI 1

when a local network channel is playing on that TV, use the TV's remote to turn up the volume. do you hear audio now? press the down button on your Xfinity remote and look at the bottom left 3 icons. do any of then have a checkmark?
