No signal

We can't get a "new" slave box to work...its not getting a signal.

Here are all the particulars:

1. Have a dvr master box in the living rm that works fine.
2. I have 2 slave boxes. One in a bedroom that works fine and one on the basement tv which is the problem.
3. The previous basement box was randomly cutting out for 10 seconds here and there so we returned for a replacement.
4. Got new box home and it wouldnt receive a signal but the tv is recognizing it showing something is plugged into the hdmi port.
5. Called customer support who took me through the typical nonsense, rebooting the box, sending signal, etc with no luck. Said we need technician.
6. Returned box for another one and same result.
7. Here's the kicker.....took box from the bedroom (which works fine in that room) and connected it to the basement tv and it works fine, so all the cables are connected just fine and have the proper signal to that basement wall port.
8. Brought nonfunctioning box into bedroom and will not get a signal there either.

As we all know, the Xfinity customer service we once knew and pay crazy money for is absolutely nonexistent so i was hoping for a lifeline here.

good testing procedure. problem followed the box and or any cables you may have also moved. if only box/power supply was moved replace the box that kept the problem no matter where connected.
