new samsung tv - can't program remote

I have a XR11 remote that worked fine with my Vizio tv but won't control volume and power on my new Samsung tv. I've tried all the codes listed for Samsung to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi there,, @user_8fs941! Congratulations on your new TV! That's an awesome upgrade! This link shows how to pair, program, and factory reset your Xfinity remote, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/programming-your-xfinity-remote. If you go through the factory reset option, then the pairing process, are you able to control the volume and power?

Thanks for your reply. I already tried all those steps multiple times. All buttons on the Xfinity remote work except the volume and on/off button. Funny thing is that the channel button on the Samsung remote doesn't work now and the power button on that remote turns off both the tv and the Xfinity box.

I also tried an XR15 remote - same result.

Thank you for trying all of that already. We can assist you further from here if you can send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service.

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
