Netflix

We have Netflix through our Xfinity account.  I have set up three different Netflix profiles for parents, a teen and a 12-year-old.  But to get to the Netflix profile signin page, Xfinity is asking for my parental control pin which of course would be useless if I gave it to the kids.  How do I bypass this problem???

your X1 settings, parentla Controls/application locks probably has a generic setting turned on. go there and select skip and mark the apps you wish to lock (in your case definityly not Netflix). and save.

Nope. All apps are unlocked.

Yes. If I turn off Xfinity parental controls the Netflix Profile page comes up no problem. Unfortunately, I don’t want to turn off the parental controls. Too many shows/movies on HBO, etc that I’d rather my kids not have access to. Definitely a glitch in the xfinity platform. Somebody please fix this.

I'm having the same issue. Nothing indicates that any of the built-in apps should be locked via Xfinity parental control pin, yet they are. Trying to lock every app OTHER than Netflix still prompts for the parental control pin for Netflix.

Mine does the same thing.  If I unlock all of the apps it will work without entering the passcode, but if I have any other apps locked, it automatically locks Netflix.  This is SUPER frustrating with kids because I DO NEED some apps blocked and others like Netflix are O.K.

Did you find a resolution to this issue?

Yes!! If we press the Netflix button on the remote that came with the TVs (not the Xfinity remote), it brings us right to the Netflix profile page. The kids then choose their profile and enter the code I set for them.
