Need help escalating unresolved X1/account issue
I’m hoping an Xfinity employee can help escalate an issue that two lengthy support chats have been unable to resolve.
An X1 box that had been working for years suddenly stopped working with error XRE-00250. During my most recent support chat, the agent investigated and confirmed that a previous Xfinity representative had mistakenly removed/deactivated the box from my account during a plan change that I made to lower my bill. I never requested or authorized removal of any of my existing TV boxes. The frustrating part is that Xfinity is now telling me the only way to restore the box that was removed by mistake is to add it back at an additional $14/month. The agent ultimately acknowledged in writing that Xfinity made the mistake and agreed that I was being asked to pay more in order to correct it.
After nearly three hours in the most recent chat (after 2+ hours in a prior chat) I asked for a complete breakdown of the proposed charges because the numbers provided didn't add up. The agent said he would check, and then the chat was disconnected without resolution. I have downloaded the complete transcripts documenting everything. I’m hoping someone from Xfinity Support/Executive Customer Relations can review the account history and help restore the service and equipment I had without requiring me to pay more to correct an admitted Xfinity error.
Can an Xfinity representative please assist?
