NBC Sports App Not Loading Content

I am trying to watch live Olympic games on my TV's X1 via NBC Sports but nothing will load. I tried multiple different sports and multiple past games but nothing will play. Tried a refresh of my X1 through the app and that did nothing to fix the problem.

Just came here to add that I cannot load any internet sports content through my X1 device, both last night and today. I restarted one of my boxes, but it did not matter. I had to go to Roku and use the NBCSports app (which is working). But why offer the content through the cable box if it doesn't work?

Now the 4K broadcast is freezing up our X1 box about every 10 minutes and throwing errors that our internet is having problems, but the internet is running fine and we have gigabit service. Trying the full 20min reset sequence from the MyAccount app but doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies. Don’t bother with the 4K stream doesn’t really look much better than the HD broadcast anyway.

Any fix? It's not working for my DVR either... The app just loads unsuccessfully until it times out. I can't watch anything but lame highlight reels with flashy music.. I want to watch the actual games!

Please send us a private message with your name and service address to Xfinity Support by clicking the chat icon at the top right of the page.

 

To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message you may need to:

Click "Sign In"
Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

Ours seems to be working today 7/26 3pm pacific time. Didn’t do a reboot. Though we did do a full 20min reset of our tv equipment from the MyAccount app after the 4K coverage continually kept freezing our box to a black screen and then looping 5 seconds of footage. Bizarre.

Does anyone have a status update on this? I can't watch them anywhere- Roku app, stream website on my laptop, through X1. I'm even trying NBCOlympics.com, but it's forcing me to log in to Xfinity, and then telling me my plan doesn't have USA Network or NBC. Unbelievable.

Hello everyone! We have identified the current issue with the NBC Sports app on our X1, and Flex systems. We have deployed an update out to all current X1, and Flex systems. We hope to have all updates deployed by the end of the day. Thank you so much for all of your patience!

Hello @julogan. Are you still having issues? If so, please send me a direct message with your first and last name, along with your complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Cannot connect to Olympics 4K HDR stream on X1 box. Just keeps trying to connect with blinking dots but never picks up stream. 4K tennis channel works but not prime time. Already went through multiple telephone support and had box “reprogrammed” to no avail. Was told to swap out X1 boxes. Seriously doubt this is the problem. More likely configuration error with Comcast/NBC. Interestingly Comcast dug up my subdivision 2 months ago to install fiber optic for the neighborhood. Guess it didn’t help.

I give up. I just won't watch the Olympic climbing prelims or gold medal events that I dearly want to see. And I will be letting NBC know that I missed them due to this glitch with xfinity. This is just too time-consuming and frustrating. Not worth the hassle.

Good afternoon, Buzzardhead. Reboots can help if we've identified a known issue and have made corrections to software on the backend. Just like most electronics out there, reboots can serve as a refresh and often fix a multitude of issues. I do understand where you're coming from though and of course, a reboot is never a guaranteed fix. I did want to check in with you though and see how the service has been going since your most recent post. How are things going with the box applications?

Reboot does not work if you haven't fixed the basis of the problem. Which apparently has not been fixed, as of this writing, since today is 8/4 and I just rebooted twice and same ol' same ol'...no access to the app on my TV.

@Buzzardhead Comcast incessant need to monetize everything has caused their system to become a nightmare. Half the time you reboot your system doesn't start again at least it was limping along before the reboot I'm an MCSA and I'm aware on occasion you do need to realign the molecules but you guys are brutal you're criminals and you cause all this grief because you're greedy.

I still can't get olympics content on NBC sports app to play. I've tried rebooting my box numerous times but it doesn't work. When will this be fixed. The content ends on October 1.

We've released an update to address the issues with the sports app not working properly. I recommend ensuring your modem has been rebooted as well and then retesting after a reboot to the box. Once completed, if the issues persist, please send us a chat message with your first and last name, so we may further review with you and get a ticket opened. The Peer to Peer chat icon is located at the top right of the Community Forum page, clicking on the chat icon will allow you to initiate a chat conversation with us directly. Please ensure you are sending your message to our 'Xfinity Support' handle.

So we all, all the hundreds or maybe thousands or millions of us, have to open a chat and start a peer-to-peer ticket to get this to work??? Are you serious? That could take eons to get everyone's TV attached to this app!

I can't get it either, as of today, August 4th. I refreshed also and nothing...just a big blank screen. At least xfinity should place all these events into "on-demand" that we can't get via the NBC sports app. Sport climbing is only viewable on the app, apparently (NBC, please get with the program and start showing ALL of the newest sports on CNBC...sport climbing should be right up there with skateboarding as one of the fresh new sports in the Olympics).

So frustrating, xfinity, advertising something as important as the Olympics to be accessible via a compatible app, but then we can't even access it. And the first issue arose in this forum 11 DAYS AGO. Still not fixed. Bad, bad Comcast...

I wonder how many people signed up for xfinity cable for the first time, on the promise of a free NBC sports app...that doesn't even work?
