NBA APPS-04036

I bought a NBA League Pass subscription through nba.com and now want to pair it with my X1 tv cable box.   When I launch the NBA App from the X1 App page, the app never successuflly launches (the screen shows black for 2  minutes with a white basketball logo spinner) and then I get the generic X1 error message "Sorry, we're having trouble with this app....APPS-04036".   Every other X1 app launches and works fine.

I've do 3 power cycles.
I've done a  full "System Refresh" 
I've cleared my cache and had to re-pair all my streaming apps.

However, NBA app still doesn't launch.
