My LG tv shuts off after 10-30 minutes when I am using my Xfinity box to watch.

Not long ago my LG tv began shutting off randomly when I was watching TV using my Xfinity box. Today it is only playing about 10 minutes before shutting off the tv (the box stays on). It doesn’t happen if I stream Netflix or Prime right after turning on the TV. Help!

What else is connected to the TV?  Sounds like an HDMI-CEC issue.

Hello Bozo7009 ,  Thanks for reaching out on Xfinity Forums. We would be happy to look into these issues for you. Have you received any error messages on the box? What other devices do you have connected to the TV besides the Xfinity Box if any?

this is a TV issue; you are using the TV apps, so it knows it is working and onm

when using an external source it sleeps and turns off,

I am having the same exact issue with my LG tv.  I had an Xfinity service tech come to my house, but he did not fix the problem.  I do not get any error messages.  I am watching a program through an app, and then the tv goes black for about 5 seconds before it reverts back to the last tv station I was watching.  I do not have this problem with any of my other tv's.

Hello user_b2fjcf this is likely a TV setting, and I was able to find a resource that should help with this.

WebOS TV Developer- Keep screen on, prevent screensaver/blackout

Let us knwo if this helps.
