My cable box is non responsive and stuck on screen saver

Yesterday I tried watching my secondary TV (it doesn't get used very often and has a XG2v2-P box) and when I turned on the TV, it was stuck on the screen saver and not responding to anything I push on the remote.  I have tried to unplug the box multiple times and when it reboots, it shows the welcome screen, then it goes blank for a few minutes, and eventually it is on the screen saver again and will not respond to anything I push on the remote.  I know the remote must be working because the light goes on an it still controls my TV volume.  Any ideas before I call in?
