Must unplug every day and wait for start

Tired of having to unplug cable box every day.  Then wait for welcome and then internet.  What's wrong?

Hey there Sdbf8 👋 I appreciate you reaching out in our community with your post, and I'm happy to help however I can because I know exactly how annoying it is to be dealing with anything that interrupts my TV viewing!

Do you mind sharing some details on what causes you to have power cycle your cable box regularly? Do your channels stop coming in, or does the box lose its connection status?

@XfinitySeth I thought I had answered this and chances are it didn't post.  But basically, we can watch TV for a few days and then, we will see the box is off.  Don't have any idea why it is off, but we have to unplug the box, then plug it back in after a minute, then push the reset button, then wait and hope the box will finally come back to life.  Sometimes we need to do it more than once and then we are good ...for another few days or, during a bad time, every day.  I don't really have much more than that.

I can say when the box is off, we can still watch streaming tv on our smart tv BUT if we do that while waiting for the box to come back on, it seems to affect the time it takes to come back to life.

Sdbf8, Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to reach out. I can understand the inconvenience caused by the box turning off. You've come to the right spot. We are a team of experts who are happy to assist with a fix over social media. Would you be able to visit our 'Manage Power Preferences on X1 and Flex' support and view the HDMI Device Control (HDMI-CEC) section to turn off HDMI-CEC to see if that helps resolve the issue?
