Multifloor Xfinity Installation
Installation Description:
I have a new house that I have wired with RG6 coax and Cat 6 to distribute TV, Ethernet and telephone on three levels of the house. Each level has a structured wiring cabinet where all locations on that floor have been terminated. The Ethernet and telephone networks work as planned. The X1 signal is not being distributed over the coax network to the X1 DVR/remote devices.
All the coax cables have been tested end-to-end and pass continuity using a Fluke Network tester.
Upon entering the house, the X1 signal is split (with a balanced MoCA compliant splitter) three ways...one for each floor. The cables to each floor terminate at the input to a powered COMMSCOPE CSMAPDU9VPI. The eight outputs go to locations on that floor where each unused port has a F Type 75 ohm termination. The active ports terminate either in a sinlge Xfinity DVR (2nd fkoor) or on all floors in multiple remote Xfinity boxes.
Problem Description:
The X1 signal is not distributed to the X1 DVR or the X1 remotes. The COMMSCOPES are powered on (green light).
Unhooking the coax from COMMSCOPES and using coax extenders to connect DVR and remotes between floors work perfectly
I would appreciate any assistance in resolving this problem....

I appologize for not being clear...at the Comcast demark in the house, the signal goes through a single 3 way balanced splitter with each output going directly to three different COMMSCOPE CSMAPDU9VPI amplifiers (one on each floor). All connections to 24 terminations around the house (including of the DVR and remote units) are from the output of one of the three COMMSCOPE amplifiers.
In a test mode, I eliminated the splitter and ran a single line to a single COMMSCOPE amplifier and put the DVR and and single remote unit on the output. Again, no signal at the DVR...
Your thoughts and experience is appreciated.

And then you posted

Which is it?
When you say no signal, is that on the tv or do you have any onscreen message from the dvr

I was describing two different scenarios...
The first was a test without the COMMSCOPE with a straight run to the DVR and then splitting the output to two TVs which worked well and confirmed that we had a X1 signal.
The second was another test adding the COMMSCOPE into to circuit above to see what effect it produced. The result is that the DVR did not have a signal.
Let me ask an off-the-wall question...how would you suggest distributing the X1 signal to up to 24 active terminations (with not more than 6 being used at one time)?

Off the wall scenario answer, for it to truly work properly, all outlets should terminate in one central location. One nine port amp with balanced 3 ways off every port. There might have to be tweaking because of moca and signal issues
