Low volume on XG1v4

The volume on my XG1v4 box is really low. When I’m watching anything through the box, I have to turn the tv volume to 50. When I stream things directly from tv I have to lower the volume to 25. Is there any fix for this? It’s very annoying. Actually makes me want to get rid of Xfinity. Just got a new box so I don’t think it’s that.

Hello, @auslaw77, I'm sorry you are experiencing this volume issue using your XG1v4. Are you able to give us more information? Does this happen on every channel you view using the box? Does this happen while using apps from the box as well?

@gmiller60654 thank you so much for reaching out for help with your audio issues with Showtime. There are a few options you can try to use to make sure the audio is balanced on all your channels try these steps to balance the audio on your box.

  1. Access the TV Adapter's or TV Box's main menu.
  2. Select Setup.
  3. Select Audio Setup.
  4. For the Set volume to optimal stereo option, select Yes to automatically adjust the volume to the optimal level for stereo output. Note: If you select No, your current volume settings will be retained.

As a dad, I can understand how important it is to make sure they get some sleep, even if they don't always see it that way. Just to make sure we rule out the basics, have you done any kind of troubleshooting on the box to try to fix it?

If not, I would first suggest turning the box off and back on, then try rebooting the box after that. If those don't work, try swapping out the cords to the tv, like the HDMI cable to see if that does anything.

If none of that works, feel free to send us a DM with your name and address and we can help you take a look at this together! You can send me a DM by following these directions:
