Live TV delay
I have a newer generation 4K DVR Model AX014ANC and 4K Mini. I also have the 1GB modem. Similar to other customers my broadcast for live tv is delayed by 45-50 seconds in comparison to other non-Xfinity customers. The odd thing is that the Xfininty stream app is also 45-50 seconds ahead of my box broadcast (also similar to other Xfininty customers). I have one additional 1080p box it that broadcast sounds like it's about 1 second faster than the main DVR and wireless 4k mini. Restarting the boxes does not fix the issue. I doubt Xfininty even considers this an "issue." And, this is not the same delay as television production broadcast use to censor. Again, if on the phone with friends with other providers, their conversation, broadcasts, messages, texts, etc. are all ahead of me by far. If this is just an Xfininty thing, please confirm rather than suggesting some phantom problem without an actual solution.
Is there a solution to the delay or is this just an expectation for the service?

I have switched out cable boxes (4k and regular) at the xfinity store and it doesn't seem to matter what cable box you use, it still has the delay mentioned above when watchign live sports. I am even getting the streaming app on the Roku to show about 5 seconds before the cable box when watching live sports. What can be done to fix this? I even watched the world series on a computer connected to my tv, because it was way ahead of my cable box. Shouldn't have to run things through the different apps or a connected computer to the tv, when I am paying to watch through the cable box in my opinion.

I have the same issue. I have to turn my phone upside down when watching football so that I don't get spoiled by my friends who are one play ahead. My technician says that some areas are just slower than others, but I think it is ridiculous that streaming on the ESPN website is faster than watching on my cable. I had another provider at my previous residence and there was no delay like this. There has to be a way for Comcast to fix this.

Has this issue been addressed? I have been having the same issue. I don’t want to hear that there is a broadcast delay . It is extremely frustrating that the fees/bills are extraordinarily high for this service but yet we have to deal with issues such as what has been addressed above . Please advise or I will also be switching to another service

50 to 70 seconds delay. Xfinity reps will not be able to do anything. This is the standard of service. This is watching on X1 with X1 Sports Zone app. Game is already in half time but on screen is about one minute delayed.

Is there any resolution here? Every sporting event is behind 1 minute plus. My kids are urging me to switch to another provider as watching any game is so frustrating as alerts are coming in way in advance of the plays actually happening. Neighbors on xfinity in Monmouth Junction where are live are all having the same complaints.

8 days since my last message, no reply from Xfinity. Two more customers confirming they're having the same issue. [Edited: "Language"] Or maybe the customer service's own alerts have a similar delay? [Edited: "Inflammatory"]. Be a sport and let at least your most affected customers know if we're propping up an already dead business. Xfinity = Bernie (of Weekend At Bernie's), and we're just Richard and Larry without the upside of a party mansion.

After repeated efforts to have this addressed by Xfinity “top technicians” and other posts and responses, [Edited: "Inflammatory"]. Anyone who watches live sports and other shows should do like me and find a new provider.

I assume this is still unresolved? It’s the most frustrating thing on the planet.

I have the same issue. There’s at least a 60-second delay on my cable boxes on all channels. We’ve compared the same channel streaming through the Xfinity app on a Roku TV and through a Fire Stick and it’ll be 60 seconds ahead on either streaming device. [Edited: "Language"] for a $250 a month service. The only reason we chose Xfinity vs an internet cable option was to avoid delays on live sports! This is ridiculous.

I believe this is something with xfinity going on. The weird thing is for me watching the NCAA tournament CBS, TBS, And TRU tv only have the standard few seconds broadcast tv delay, However, TNT is a full 30 seconds behind to the point you can watch the others games and see the score changing on the TNT game 30 seconds before you will see it. I have noticed this with some channels through the sports season as well where some are not impacted but others are. Tennis channel for example is another one. My contract is up in a few months and will be switching because of this as it is an Xfinity issue but they Just want to blame the broadcast tv delay.

Can confirm TNT is also 20-30 seconds behind where I am, so I assume it's a national issue with Xfinity. CBS is also behind on the cable system where I am, though. That one is definitely on Xfinity but it's probably specific to this local area — have an antenna hooked up and it's not lagged there, in fact a few seconds faster than even TBS. Thanks to March Madness I'm able to compare the timestamps on the game clocks when I switch channels and get some idea of how lagged it is.
CBS over-the-air (WCAV 19.1, RF 32, about 10 miles from tower, 1080i) — probably as close to real-time as I'm able to get
TBS, TruTV — about 5-10 seconds slower, which is acceptable, almost identical timing to each other
TNT — about 25 seconds behind TBS (at one point while watching TBS, game clock in the corner for the TNT game was 2:47, switch to TNT and after a couple seconds it's back up to 3:11), maybe 30-35 seconds behind CBS OTA. Very curious to hear why this channel in particular is lagged...
CBS on cable — same affiliate, about 40 seconds behind over-the-air, 10-15 seconds behind even TNT, also recompressed down to 720p and more stuttery when in motion (sketchy deinterlacing?) than the national cable TV feeds which are also 720p on Xfinity. All of the local stations I'm able to compare (CBS, FOX, NBC, CW, PBS and subchannels) have about the same delay, even FOX which is 720p native.

[Edited: "Language/Inflammatory"] While we all scramble around testing our signals and wasting time on hold with service technicians, where is the solution from the company sending me bills every month???

Yeah it’s really unfortunate they don’t understand the issue and only say let me trouble shoot the issue with you. It’s obvious what the issue is as it’s clearly mentioned by thousands of people all over internet. They simply don’t understand or care. The bruins just lost in OT and I had to wait 45 seconds for it to happen. Lmao

Same, all my sports results get spoiled for me. I've tried everything from rebooting to unplugging everything for a few hrs to no avail. Support has no idea how to fix this issue, simply shooting the box with an update does nothing. Its on their end. My bill keeps going up though. Next thing for me to do is cut the cord and get rid of cable.
