Live programming not able to navigate backwards

I just got a new DVR box after my 15 year old one was showing signs of failure and the new one does not seem to have the capability of backing up live programming when you choose to watch a recording and then come back to the live programming.  The old one used to do that.  Is that a fault with the new box or is that just a poor design?  The new box is an XG2v2-P, Model: PX022ANM.

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your reply/follow up.  I did some more research and found that the type of box that I was given as a replacement was a cloud-only box.  It would not pause a show for more than 20 seconds and at the top and bottom of the hour it would un freeze the video and not allow you to reverse.  So clearly that box was flawed.  I returned it and made sure that I got the same type of box that I had before which contains a hard drive and backups to the cloud.   It works fine now.  Also, another difference with the old box was it did not show the current time or have a indicator light on it when it was recording; don't know why they opted to not have those simple things in it.
