you can use 'IP' if you use the xfinity TV remote app. sign in, select the set top box from the icon drop down menu. select the 'remote' icon and use one of the 3 screens to have a smart phone remote control. remember, commands are always sent to a comcast server that then tells the set top box how to respond.
