I picked up my equipment from an at&t store yesterday. I specifically asked if I could view recordings that are only recorded on a box. They said yes. Is it possible to have 2 dvr boxes on 1 account. I already have directv and can't do it there after I upgraded from a genie to a genie 2. I was willing to cancel directv with a $240 early cancellation fee. Now I have 2 services that wont do what I want. If its possible to have 2 dvr's on 1 account, can I split the incoming cable to go to 2 different locations. I appreciate your help. I'm going to cancel the $100 installation appointment I have for today.
@ddilley13 Thank you for reaching back out to us here at the Xfinity Community Forums with your questions regarding DVR service. I do want to make sure I am fully understanding your concern regarding viewing recordings on your Xfinity DVR and companion boxes. While it is possible to have a second DVR box, you would not be able to double the number of simultaneous recordings (if that is what you are asking) but it would allow for additional storage. You may set up to six simultaneous recordings with your DVR, and as mentioned by Rustyben, the recordings would be shared and viewable on all boxes in your home. The XiD boxes you stated in your original post are not DVRs meaning you have one DVR. an extra DVR (I have 3) only gives one benefit of more recording space in the home. Tuners are not increased to record more at the same time.

the DVR recordings are shared with all devices.
